HumAngle Foundation hosts Second Multi-stakeholder Roundtable on Peacebuilding in Kaduna State

A full report of the roundtable discussion is available here.

As part of the Advancing Peace and Security through Journalism Project, supported by the National Endowment for Democracy, HumAngle Foundation hosted the second edition of its roundtable with local peace actors in Kaduna State, North West, Nigeria, on Nov. 13, 2025.

Riding on insights from the first edition of the roundtable, this event focused on bringing together representatives of the government, security operatives, and community-based organisations (CBOs) to explore avenues for collaboration in peacebuilding.

The roundtable featured a presentation from Aliyu Dahiru, HumAngle Media’s Head of Radicalisation and Extremism Desk, and discussion sessions were moderated by both the Foundation’s Programme Director, Angela Umoru-David, and Senior Programme Officer, Salma Jumah.

The discussions explored extremist narratives circulating in Kaduna, the different pockets of conflict and their drivers, and efforts to address the peacebuilding challenges.

A key milestone of the activity was the re-establishment of a communication link between the CBOs and the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State.
