Mental Health

HumAngle Foundation’s mental health initiative aims to promote psychological safety, resilience, and support for civic actors and communities affected by conflict.

We believe that mental health is a pivotal aspect of public health and must be addressed to ensure post-conflict recovery in vulnerable communities and the effectiveness of civic actors who are constantly exposed to secondary trauma in the course of their work.

Through our comprehensive psychological training, including trauma-informed care, stress management, and other wellness support activities, we help to address emotional needs with confidentiality, sensitivity and empathy.

We also equip civic actors and journalists with psychological first aid (PFA) skills and specialised training in de-escalation techniques, cultural sensitivity in trauma responses, mindfulness and cognitive-behavioural strategies to enhance resilience. For conflict-affected persons, the initiative offers group-based resilience training, trauma-focused psychoeducation, and the establishment of community-based support systems that foster collective healing. These components aim to empower individuals to manage stress, rebuild their lives, and regain a sense of agency.

Our mental health initiative fosters recovery and emotional well-being for all involved by combining targeted psychological interventions with capacity-building for civic actors. It ensures sustainable impact, enabling the foundation to maintain its critical work in some of the most challenging environments while prioritising mental health and resilience.
